Bangkok June 22-26th 2004

My first business trip! After SEVEN almost sent me to London. Dr Pan was very kind to ask me along for this trip to assist him and observe at a United Nations meeting. It's about trade information knowledge systems with the least developed countries. I am honored to have met trade government officials from Bhutan, Nepal, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Timor-Leste; and also friends from Bangalesh and the UN itself. It was a truely rewarding experience although before that I was kinda afraid of staying in a hotel alone.....Luckily Leslie joined me halfway through the trip and we did spend the last few days doing touristy stuff like eating, shopping and...getting lost. I remember Greyhound cafe in the emporium which serves good food, Yaowaraj for their seafood and Chatuchak market for cheap shoes and food! (seem to be revolving a lot around food). At period of writing, I am in my last stage of my internship with Credit Suisse First Boston. Although I didn't do much at work, it was a great learning experience and a good chance to meet people. Although I still have 1 more year to graduation (thanks to my masters), I hope that in time I can be someone whom I deserve to be.

A very excited me on the first day.
