Stanford-Berkeley Big Game, November 2002

After losing football for Stanford for 7 years, U cal berkeley people hate Stanford!! So imagine the rivalry that day when Stanford Cardinal met Cal bears (football team names) on Berkeley home ground! 2 months before this event, there were hate-Stanford posters everywhere. According to my friend Ryan who's at Berkeley on exchange, you'll die in Berkeley if you wear a Red Tshirt in the dorms! That's how much they hate Stanford.

All the shops around Berkeley all had 'support Cal and anti-stanford' signs. Eventually, Stanford lost to Cal 7-30. It was a lousy game. I thought that they really played badly. But football itself was boring too. What was amazing were the number of people who were there, and the crazy berkeley people!

We were lucky! Met the Stanford football team when they were just about to go into the field. They all look hunky and BIG

People were screaming ' GO STANFORD!'

There were SOOO many people! (71,000 in all) And this is only half of the Stanford section which was 1/3 of the whole Stadium excluding those cheapo Berkeley students who were watching the game from top of a hill

This is the Stanford cheerleaders and err...watever tree

Me as usual, posing in front of the Stanford crowd

Our Stanford band

See that! It's an anti-stanford sign by the Berkeley students

10 secs before the game ended, the Berkeley students self declared that they won and rushed onto the field! It was pure madness

Crazy!! They eventually pushed away all the policemen and tore down the goalposts
