New York, New York, December 2002

On 30th Dec, we arrived at downtown Manhatten where people live in penthouses and the subways are known for being crazy (which we agree, but after 5 days in New York, I think I've mastered the subway system..not bad huh), where the broadway shows are famous, where Carrie Bradshaw lives, where the terrorists killed 2800 people, where the tallest building in the world is....

There's so much to New York! It's crazy. However, the weather was real bad. Raining all the time and it's so cold, made all of us sick and it's partly why I got sick of New York.

We stayed in the Ramada New Yorker hotel which is real close to lotsa places, but the room is SO small..sigh..another cons of New York. (The broadway song keeps playing in my head)

Watched 2 broadway shows (wanted to watch more, but real difficult to get tix) : Dance of the Vampires (quite a nice one, they had the song 'tonight is what it means to be young' which I danced to before and enjoyed very much) and Phantom of the Opera which lives up to its name. Too bad can't watch Les Mis.

And of course, what's a girl gotta do when she walks past Macy's one day sale (the biggest department store int he whole wide world!) and Victoria Secret's 25% off? Spent quite a lot on shopping..but there's no sales tax here! unlike 8% in california! So can forgive myself la..haha

Countdown at times square was crazy! Can you believe that I queued up there for 6 hrs?? Just to see some stupid fire works, But Avil sang there, so it kinda made up for it. And we helped to set a world record of the most number of people ringing bells at the same time ...kinda stupid but well at least, it's a world record...
