San Francisco

It's my san francisco weekend again!!! Spent like 2 days in the city and it was really fun and memorable...:) Was pretty alone most of the time (had a friend drove me up to the city and back) and I reallly enjoyed wandering around myself, seeing stuff, meeting people, forming memories. Went to Golden Gate Park, Union Square and Oktober fest on Sat and Castro Street fair and the Exploratorium at the palace of fine arts.

Golden Gate Park is one of the largest parks in the country and you can see lotsa pple there just hanging around, taking naps on the grass (which someone is nicer than singapore's grass), playing ball games, painting, dancing......

Had lunch at Porky's cafe (or something like that) at Haight Street. It's near the golden gate park and it's the old hippy's street

Photo of Golden Gate Park. Kids in soccer jerseys were playing against one another, really cute.

Another photo of golden gate park. you can see a girl in bikini just lazing around in the foreground.

There're a couple of museums in the park. This is one of them.

The tea garden in the park. did not go in though as i need to pay for entrance..so decided not to.

This is their botanical gardens where people really enjoy lying on the grass.

After Golden Gate Park, I went to Union Square..the main shopping area.

This is a random shot on the way to Union Square.

A new building near Union Square. Lotsa sony stuff.

The shopping district. ( I went into Macy's, tiffany and co, victoria secrets flagstore..and in the end only bought Godiva chocolates)

This is Union Square. They were having some art exhibition that day.

Oktober fest is an annual German festival. According to my friend Aaron who's studying in Germany, people really get crazy there. Well it's pretty happening in San Francisco too. Lotsa pple, lotsa food, lotsa BEER!! (People go around with 1 litre mugs! Imagine that!), lotsa dance.....I had this german dish called Ham Shank...pretty sour though.

The outside of the festival pavilion where they had Oktober Fest.

The inside of the pavilion. Too bad I forgot to take pix of the german people in traditional costumes. There were people going around with 'barrel hats' though.

The next day.....CASTRO STREET FAIR!! it's the annual castro street fair again...to celebrate what they called GAY PRIDE!! if you think Kumar's cool..check this out! There're pple walking around with costumes..from drama queens to just a plain g-string...oh yar and they're all gays. There's young gays, old gays, muscular gays, skinny gays, asian gays, white gays, black gays..anyway you get the idea.

They call themselves the san francisco cheerleaders who cheer for life (actually it's for aids patients) the guys look gayish but they were good though

Lotsa food!

Lotsa shops too...selling stuff that range from innocent tinklets to 'Support san francisco women motocyclists' (that look very lesbian-ish) and 'gays are cool' booths

One of the shops...I like the funny animal pix.

See the rainbow colored flags and tees? That's called 'Gay Pride' and it's a symbol of the gay community

See the number of people there!

I'm trying to take a picture of the guy/girl? standing in the middle. He/She's actually quite normal dressed already, saw worse.

Finallly, the exploratorium at the palace of fine arts

The inside of the exploratorium. It's a bit like science center

My main purpose of coming to the exploratorium, the tactile dome built in 1972. It's totally dark inside and u gotta feel your way out, quite cool...but there's a bunch of 12 year old girls who keep screaming....

That's all, it's a fun weekend!!! My roomies went Yosemite though....can check it out at www.calenz.com/SV and www.d4x.net/sv
